Wrestling in Texas was hot in 2010 with the official launch of the Texas Independent Wrestling League on Labor Day weekend 2010 in Palmer, Texas. The premier event of TIWL was Mission Mania with proceeds benefiting the Palmer Assembly of God Outreach Program. The card featured the great stars of Texas wrestling including Aski, Cervante, Principe, Dr. NeMo Luv, the “All American” Mad Dog, Dave Dunning, Adam Bomb, Texas Red, JT Lomata and Tim Storm.

This event marked the first time professional wrestling had appeared in Palmer since the days of the legendary World Class Championship Wrestling that featured legends such as the Von Erichs, “Gentleman” Chris Adams, Gino Hernandez, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, The Dingo (later known as the Ultimate) Warrior, and a young “Stunning” (Stone Cold) Steve Austin.
That night Texas Red defeated Eric Kincaid, Adam Bomb beat NeMo Luv, and the “All American” Mad Dog got the nod over JT Lomata. Also for the Texas Junior Heavyweight Championship, Mexican star Cervante would take the belt in an exciting triple threat match to crown a new champion. “Maniac” Mike Brooks and Tim Storm would defeat Live Wire and Kid Kilowatt in a tag team main event.
The second event of 2010 for the Texas Independent Wrestling League was held in Wilmer, Texas and was a benefit for the Wilmer Police Department as part of a program called National Night Out. National Night Out is crime, a drug, and violence prevention program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). The Wilmer Police partnered with the Texas independent Wrestling League to spread the message of crime prevention that night to the good folks of Wilmer.
The event was more successful than anyone imaged. The expected crowd of 200 swelled to over 4 times that amount. The 800 strong crowd witnessed the “All American” Mad Dog defeat Adam Bomb, Live Wire and Pendragon defeated the Oklahoma-Mexico Connection for the TIWL Tag Team Championships and Aski and Cervantes putting on a literal wrestling clinic vying for the Texas Junior Heavyweight Championship in front of the excited fans in a match that was broadcast on Univision television network.
In 2011, the Texas Independent Wrestling League will be having more shows and some amazing talent. Check out the Live Events page or our Facebook link for the latest happenings!
